NOTICE: Regarding the Event Format – Updated June 23, 2021

To our Enterprise Data World Community,

All of us at DATAVERSITY would like to thank you for your continued support. While the last 15 months have been full of uncertainties around face-to-face events, we are thrilled to finally see restrictions being lifted. As such, we are delighted to announce that the 2022 Enterprise Data World (EDW) Conference will be conducted as an in-person event. The full program and many traditional on-site activities will be presented at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego on March 20-25, 2022.

As of June 15, 2021, the State of California has lifted almost all significant COVID restrictions on group meetings, including social distancing and indoor capacity limits, so if conditions continue to improve, then we should be able to conduct the EDW Conference without any restrictions. We are mindful, however, that from the start of the COVID pandemic, the threats have cycled up and down, and if new data or outbreaks bring about restrictions in the future, then we will need to abide by those. We will communicate any such changes to you as soon as possible and will continue to work side by side with the exceptional staff at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina to ensure we can provide all attendees a safe and enjoyable experience.

Have additional questions about this event? Please contact us at events@dataversity.net for assistance.

We look forward to seeing you in person soon!

Thank you,

The DATAVERSITY Team

FAQ

Q.  What COVID-19 procedures and policies will be implemented at the in-person EDW Conference?

A. As of June 15, 2021, virtually all COVID restrictions affecting group indoor meetings have been lifted in the State of California. This is very good news, of course, and means that we are optimistic about being able to conduct the EDW Conference without any special COVID protocols. However, as DATAVERSITY’s first priority is the safety and health of all our conference participants and staff, we are continuing to monitor the State requirements, as well as the recommendations of health agencies such as the CDC and World Health Organization.

As such, it is possible that in the next six months, new information may require us to implement some type of restrictive policies. Based on prior restrictions, these policies MAY include some or all of the following measures:

  • Face coverings during indoor and/or outdoor gatherings
  • Proof of vaccination or evidence of a negative COVID test result within 72 hours prior to arrival at the conference
  • Rapid covid test upon arrival
  • Social distancing and/or room capacity limits
  • Liability waivers

Of course, we hope that all the current freedoms will continue; however, based on the various waves of the pandemic over the past 15 months, we must consider the possibility that conditions will again change in the future. DATAVERSITY must therefore reserve the right to modify and add/remove requirements in accordance with California regulations, venue-specific policies, and also at its discretion. While it is difficult to anticipate what these specific requirements may be, you may assume that the cooperation of all attendees with published health and on-site safety protocols will be required to enter and participate in the conference.

We will update this page as we get closer to the event. Again, we have a high expectation as of this time of writing (in late June 2021), that we will be able to conduct the conference at normal capacity levels and without restrictions. If you have additional questions, please contact us at events@dataversity.net and our staff will happily assist you.

Q. What happens if the in-person event is canceled?

A. If COVID restrictions escalate to levels where we are forced to restructure the event, we will make an announcement here, as well as reach out to all participants by email. You can also review our cancellation policies for additional details. If you have additional questions, please contact us at registration@dataversity.net and our staff will happily assist you.

Q. What is Enterprise Data World (EDW)?

A. The 26th annual Enterprise Data World Conference is recognized as the most comprehensive educational Data Management conference in the world. Over six days, over 125 speakers present a diverse schedule of programming that addresses every level of proficiency.

Several simultaneous topic tracks and the variety of sessions (keynotes, workshops, tutorials, case studies) make it easy for each of our 1,000+ attendees to tailor their ideal agenda!

Q. Interested in speaking

A. Most of the sessions are selected through a Call for Presentations (CFP) process. Learn more here

Additionally, some sessions such as keynotes and panels are developed through specific invitations to the speakers. There are also some vendor speaking sessions that are identified on the program agenda as “Sponsored.”

Q. How do I become a sponsor?

A. Contact our Sponsorship Director Warwick Davies at warwick@dataversity.net or call (781) 354-0119.

Q. What is the CDMP, and how do I get CDMP Certified?

A. The Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) is the premier professional certification program in Data Management and is designed and administered by DAMA International. DATAVERSITY conducts CDMP exams at most of our in-person events, including EDW, as part of our long-running partnership with DAMA. Further information about the CDMP will soon be available on our CDMP page.

Q. Can I attend EDW virtually?

A. At the time of writing (July 2021), we do not offer a virtual attendance option.

Q. Will the EDW presentations be recorded?

A. We will be providing more details on potential video options soon.

Q. What if my question wasn't answered above?

A. For registration questions, email registration@dataversity.net. For all other queries, email events@dataversity.net.
